Winter Wonderland: The Coleman Collection ~ The Tradition Continues – Visit with some of your favorite animated figures from Coleman’s celebrated Winter Wonderland Collection, Courthouse Galleries, High & Court streets. 757-393-8543. Nov 16-Dec 31

Coleman’s Nativity Scene at Monumental United Methodist Church – See the life-sized Nativity scene displayed for many years in the garden of Coleman Nursery. Now it’s in the chapel on Queen Street. 757-397-1297.

Olde Fashioned Holiday Window Paintings – Portsmouth Public School students dress the storefront and restaurant windows of Olde Towne in old-fashioned holiday themes. Look for it along the historic High Street corridor from Effingham Street to the High Street Landing. Each participating student is awarded a certificate in recognition of their contribution to the city's holiday art.

Yuletide Window Displays – Retail Alliance has created a holiday window-decorating contest, called the “Retail Alliance Holiday Window Works Award,” for independent retail businesses in the Greater Hampton Roads area. Some merchants with the Olde Towne Business Association plan to participate. Two awards will be given: A “People’s Choice Award,” based on customers’ votes, and a “Retail Alliance Holiday Window Works Award,” selected by a panel of judges. ‘Tis the Season: A Holiday Planetarium Show – Learn about the lighting of the Yule log, Christmas tree lights, luminaries and the Hanukkah menorah.
